Live life abundantly and create the future you’d like to see.

Who is your hero and why?

I don’t have one specific hero. I appreciate all the lessons I’ve learnt from my teachers, lecturers, supervisors, employees, mentors and coaches, as their influence has shaped who I am.

The speed of trust by Stephen M R Covey.

My iPhone 7.

We must work together as a well-coordinated, high-performance team.

To live, love, laugh and do my best.

My dad, he taught me the importance of hard work and doing things to my fullest capabilities.

To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Focus on using the 80/20 principle to do the right things at the right time.

I do not have a hero. My ideal is to do the best I can with the talents that God has given me.

The Count of Monte Christo by Alexander Dumas. It is the best love story in the world!

My Kindle.

In one sentence: what in your view must we do to make Exxaro better?

There are always lots of things that any company can do better, the trick comes in empowering people to always feel comfortable to voice their ideas/concerns/questions regardless of the situation. I think Exxaro is already striving toward this!

Do not take life for granted; make a difference.

Who is your hero and why?

Abraham Lincoln, for his character, integrity and leadership (benevolent leadership style), which attracted followers that resulted in preserving the United States as a union and started the process for freeing slaves.

What is your favourite book?

Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn by J C Maxwell.

What is your favourite gadget?

My cellphone to connect, collaborate, share and have fun (pictures, music and sharing moments in life).

Unite with one goal – create a better future for all, and live oneness.

If you believe you can, you will. It is based on my favourite quote by Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't -- you're right.”

I really look up to my father – he is a great engineer and scientist, and a great dad.

I love reading crime novels. My favourite novel is I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes.

My iPad and my Apple Pencil.

Keep it simple and practical. Everything has a simple solution - we need to find it.

Who is your hero and why?

My father – a great engineer who educated young engineering minds for 35 years at university. Even today, at 74, he stands out as a world-class leader in his field.

What is your favourite gadget?

My cordless drill. It works for everything from drilling to mixing pancake dough.

What in your view must we do to make Exxaro better?

Continuously improve what we do and how we do it. Seek opportunities to improve in everything we do through collaboration and teamwork.

My personal motto in life is to help uplift people. I’m particularly passionate about children’s welfare –we must build in them a foundation of a very good value system and the right mindset.

Nelson Mandela – He lived his beliefs even if he had to sacrifice his own life.

The Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela.
